[origin: WO2013107994A1] The present invention relates to the use of at least one azo compound for detecting at least one microorganism in a sample. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for detecting, in a biological sample, at least one microorganism exhibiting azoreductase activity, comprising the steps consisting in: bringing the sample into contact with a reaction medium comprising at least one azo compound, incubating said reaction medium, and detecting the reduction of the azo compound by said microorganism, indicating the presence of said at least one microorganism.
