[origin: WO2013114008A1] The invention relates to a machine (1) for sorting flat objects (2) on edge, comprising an upstream conveyor (10) and a downstream conveyor (30) that convey the flat objects (2) by gripping same, the upstream (10) and downstream (30) conveyors being separated by a detection means (100) comprising an intermediate conveyor (20) provided with intermediate belts (22) which convey said flat objects (2) by gripping same, and each of which is separately combined with a suction means (24, 25) that clamps each flat object (2) against one of said two intermediate belts (22), a means (26) for capturing images of the bases of said flat objects (2) passing between the intermediate belts (2), and a means (4) for analyzing and processing images from among said images in order to detect any possible pickup of multiple flat objects (2).
