Abstract (en)

An apparatus (200) for rotating and positioning a turbine shell (26) of a turbomachine (10) during a maintenance process is provided. The apparatus includes a shell support (204) having a first member (230) and a second member (232) coupled to a side of a vertically upper portion (100) of the turbine shell. The apparatus also includes an actuator (248) coupled to the shell support. The actuator rotates the upper portion of the turbine shell to expose internal components of a turbine system. The apparatus also includes a platform (220) positioned adjacent the shell support and a pivot assembly (222) coupled to the shell support and actuator. The pivot assembly of the apparatus is positioned on a first surface of the platform. Additionally, the apparatus includes a securing structure (206) positioned on a second surface of the platform for preventing movement of the shell support during the rotating of the upper portion of the turbine shell.
