[origin: WO2013117286A1] The invention relates to a lighting device (2) of a motor vehicle having at least one light-emitting module (1) which is formed from at least one light source unit (3), wherein the light source unit (3) comprises at least one light source (3.2), and wherein light radiation for generating headlight distribution (FL) can be emitted by means of the at least one light source (3.2). An optical component (5) is provided in this case, a portion of the emitted light radiation being deflected by means of said optical component in such a way that a map of the at least one light source unit (3) can be generated outside the headlight distribution (FL).
