[origin: WO2013117277A1] The invention relates to a radar sensor for motor vehicles, having a monolithic, integrated microwave circuit (10) which comprises an oscillator (16) to generate a transmission signal and a mixer (20) to generate an intermediate frequency signal (IF) from a received signal, the monolithic, integrated microwave circuit (10) further comprising at least one sensor (28; 32; 38; 42; 58; 62; 64; 66) and a monitoring circuit (30; 62) which is configured to compare a measurement variable measured by the sensor to a desired state of the measurement variable, wherein the monitoring circuit (30) can be configured to control a circuit part (50) of the monolithic, integrated microwave circuit (10) on the basis of the result of the comparison.
