[origin: WO2013121154A1] The invention relates to a method for assisting in the design of a computing center using a computer, comprising the following steps: geometrically defining a location provided for housing the computing center; defining physical constraints associated with said location; supplying a library with computing-center elements in order to define the hardware of the computing center, said library being associated with a set of rules for installing said elements in a computing center; defining a list of needs to be satisfied by the computing center; and generating a list of library elements suitable for satisfying said list of needs by applying at least one installation rule, said elements of the list complying with said definitions and said list being capable of being empty in the event it is not possible to find elements complying with said definitions and said rules.
