Die Erfindung betrifft eine zweistufige Mahlanlage und ein Verfahren zur Steuerung und/oder Regelung einer zweistufigen Mahlanlage (2), wobei eine erste Stufe (A) eine SAG-Mühle (4) zum Mahlen eines Stoffes (S) und einen Klassierer (8) zur Klassierung des gemahlenen Stoffes (S) umfasst und eine zweite Stufe (B) eine Pebble-Mühle (14), ein Hydrozyklon (16) und einen Klassierer (26) umfasst, mit folgenden Schritten: a) es werden mindestens ein für den Betrieb der Mahlanlage (2) charakteristischer erster Parameter und ein zweiter Parameter ermittelt, b) es wird die Ableitung des ersten Parameters nach dem zweiten Parameter ermittelt, c) es wird das Vorzeichen der Ableitung ermittelt, d) die Mahlanlage (2) wird in Abhängigkeit des Vorzeichens der Ableitung gesteuert und/oder geregelt.
