Abstract (en)

A roller leveler (100) for flattening sheet material (S) includes: a leveling roll unit (20) that has a plurality of leveling rolls (6, 8) configured to rotate so as to pass the sheet material while sandwiching and pressing the sheet material (S) interposed therebetween; pushing cylinders (4a, 4b) configured to press the sheet material (S) via the leveling rolls (6, 8) and provided on each of an entrance side and a discharge side of the leveling roll unit (20), on which the sheet material (S) enters and is discharged into and from the leveling roll unit (20), respectively; and a driving mechanism (15) configured to rotate the leveling rolls (6, 8) to pass the sheet material (S), wherein the plurality of leveling rolls (6, 8) are designed so that a diameter (D) thereof satisfies a relation, 0.5<D/P<0.9, in relation to a roll pitch P of the leveling rolls (6, 8) that is determined from a maximum requirement yield stress and a maximum requirement sheet-material thickness of the sheet material to be flattened.
