The conveying-bookbinding line extends along the folded sheet feeders and penetrates through the bookbinding station. The main collecting chain and the auxiliary collecting chain are each provided with chain knots, chain tops and linkage pieces, wherein the chain tops and the linkage pieces are fixed to the chain knots. The main collecting chain and the auxiliary collecting chain extend in parallel at least in the area of the folded sheet feeders, the auxiliary collecting chain turns downwards from the conveying-bookbinding line after leaving the folded sheet feeders, and therefore only the main collecting chain extends along the conveying-bookbinding line in the area of the bookbinding station. The main collecting chain is driven by a motor. The auxiliary collecting chain is driven by front chain wheels and rear chain wheels, the front chain wheels and the rear chain wheels are connected with one another, the front chain wheels are arranged in the auxiliary collecting chain in a matched mode, and the rear chain wheels are arranged in the upper section of the rear part of the main collecting chain in a matched mode, wherein the main collecting chain moves towards the bookbinding station.

Ein Sammelhefter weist eine Heftstation (24), wenigstens einen Falzbogenanleger (10, 12, 14), eine bezügüch einer Transport- und Heftünie (22) hinteren Hauptsammelkette (50) und einer diesbezüglichen vorderen Nebensammelkette (40) zum Transport von Falzbogen (16, 18, 20) entlang der Transport- und Heftlinie (22) auf, die sich entlang der Falzbogenanleger (10, 12, 14) und durch die Heftstation (24) erstreckt. Die Haupt- und Nebensammelketten weisen jeweils Kettenglieder auf sowie an diesen befestigte Kettendächer und Mitnehmer. Die Haupt- und Nebensammelketten verlaufen wenigstens im Bereich der Falzbogenanleger parallel, wobei die Nebensammelkette nach dem Verlassen des Bereichs der Falzbogenanleger aus der Transport- und Heftlinie (22) nach unter abgelenkt wird, so dass sich im Bereich der Heftstation (24) nur die Hauptsammelkette (50) entlang der Transport- und Heftlinie (22) erstreckt. Die Hauptsammelkette (50) wird über einen Motor angetrieben. Der Antrieb für die Nebensammelkette (40) erfolgt über ein vorderes und hinteres Kettenrad, die miteinander verbunden sind, wobei das vordere Kettenrad in die Nebensammelkette (40) eingreift und das hintere Kettenrad (52) in den oberen Trum der in Richtung der Heftstation (24) laufenden hinteren Hauptsammelkette (50) eingreift, wobei das hintere Kettenrad (52) eine Triebstockverzahnung aufweist.
