Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013124256A2] The invention is concerned with a novel concept for improving the optical properties of the projection head during scanning laser projection. For this purpose, a fibre output coupling (1) is presented, which affords advantages over previous solutions with a fibre duo. It constitutes a possibility of being able to set the position of the point of intersection between the light beams. It is thus possible to position the point of intersection on the polygon facets (7). For this purpose, the known collimation lens is replaced by a new output coupling system (1). As a result, lower losses of light occur and edge discolourations during projection are reduced. The distance between the fibres (2, 3, 8, 9) can be chosen to be small (approximately 25 - 125 mum). It now also becomes possible to incorporate more than two fibres (2, 3, 8, 9), as a result of which a plurality of lines (Z11-19) can be scanned simultaneously. This enables a higher image resolution than can be realized with a fibre duo.
