[origin: GB2498652A] A vessel 2 comprises a plurality of hulls 4, a propulsion system including propulsion devices 6 at respective end regions of the plurality of hulls and a control systemconnected to the propulsion system to control operation of the propulsion devices so as to position the hulls. The propulsion devices are angled relative to the vertical, longitudinally of each hull. Such vessel can perform installation functions of sub-surface assets such as tidal turbines, wave energy devices, cable laying and the like, or to facilitate foundation installations and also the function of inspecting sub surface areas. A method of using the vessel for the inspection of an area and a vessel in which each hull is symmetrical about a substantially vertical plane transverse to a longitudinal axis of each hull is also disclosed
