[origin: WO2013156480A1] The invention relates to a pipe bundle reactor for chemical synthesis, to a method for operating the pipe bundle reactor and to an arrangement composed of a pipe bundle reactor and a high-temperature electrolysis means. The pipe bundle reactor comprises an outer casing, an inner casing and an intermediate space delimited by the two casings, with at least one gas line in the intermediate space. The intermediate space and the inner casing are filled with heat transfer medium. The heat transfer of the reaction heat to the heat transfer medium is improved because the heat of the product gas is also transferred in the intermediate space. Furthermore, the temperature in the pipe bundle reactor can be regulated.
