[origin: WO2013139581A1] A hair-shaping appliance 1 comprises a device 3 for treating a strand of hair and at least one active-substance applicator 11, 11.1 that serves to condition a strand of hair held by the hair-shaping appliance 1. The at least one active-substance applicator 11, 11.1 has an active-substance carrier 18 which is arranged in an active-substance reservoir 15, with active substance contained therein in liquid form for the purposes of application, and it has an application roller 12 which is mounted rotatably in the direction of movement of a strand of hair held by the hair-shaping appliance 1 and guided past this. The application roller 12 is in contact, around part of its circumference and substantially along its entire length in the longitudinal direction, with the active-substance carrier 18 located in the active-substance reservoir 15. During a use of the hair-shaping appliance 1, the jacket surface 19 of the application roller 12 is also in contact with hair held by the hair-shaping appliance 1 and guided past the latter. By the hair guided past the application roller 12, the latter is rotated for the purpose of applying active substance to the hair in contact with the application roller 12.
