[origin: WO2014117984A1] A piece of fitness equipment comprises a means (10) for carrying a pumping device (16) on a part of a person's body. The carrying means comprises a main body (80), which has a first end (68) and a second end (62), a connecting means, which is suitable for connecting the first end (68) and the second end (62) to one another, and a retaining means (64), for fastening the pumping device (16) in a releasable manner on the main body (60). A method for controlling such a piece of fitness equipment comprises the following method steps: a) opening the first valve (86a); b) actuating the compressor (84) while the first valve (86a) is open; c) stopping the compressor (84) as soon as the pressure of the fluid in the first pressure chamber (26) reaches a predetermined pressure; d) opening the second valve (86b); e) closing the first valve (86a); f) actuating the compressor (84) while the second valve (86b) is open; g) stopping the compressor (84) as soon as the pressure of the fluid in the second pressure chamber (28) reaches the predetermined pressure; h) opening the first valve (86a) and i) closing the second valve (86b).
