[origin: WO2013139883A1] The present invention concerns a printing device (1) for printing documents (2) comprising a printing area (4) and a main strip (8) forming a closed loop mounted in endless circulation and having an upper portion (9) arranged to circulate according to a conveying direction (7) under a print head (5). According to the invention, the printing device comprises means (10, 33) for determining a thickness of each of the documents according to a thickness axis (11), and the printing area comprises adjustment means (12) arranged to move the upper portion (9) of the main strip at least along an axis (13) parallel to the thickness axis on the basis of a document thickness value provided by the determining means.
