Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2013139592A1] In order to ensure the firing strength of a full-calibre practice projectile (1), which has a solid head part (3) and a tubular fin body (5) adjoining the head part (3) at the rear, in a cost-effective manner, the invention proposes that the fin body (5) is designed in such a way that the propellant gases caused by the firing of the practice projectile (1) act also on the outer side (6) of the side wall (7) of the tubular fin body (5). In order to prevent the propellant gases from flowing past the practice projectile (1) on the outside within the weapon barrel, a sealing system (8) is provided in the area of the solid head part (3) of the practice projectile (1), wherein a circumferential section (10) is provided on the outer side (9) of the head part (3), which is designed as a sealing surface and whose outer diameter is selected such that the head part (3) itself forms the sealing system (8) in this section (10) during firing of the practice projectile (1). A groove seal is preferably provided in the sealing surface (10), said groove seal comprising at least three annularly arranged grooves (11) which are axially spaced from one another.
