[origin: CA2869223A1] The invention relates to a container (1) with a lower part (2) and a covering part (3). A latch portion which protrudes downwards is formed on the covering part (3) in order to interact with a latch engagement part (4) of the lower part (2), a latching tongue (5) which extends along the lower part being formed on the latch portion. The aim of the invention is to develop such a container with respect to the handling thereof. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the latching tongue (5) extends below the latch engagement part (4) of the container (1) in the closed state so as to leave a direct open space (a) between the inner face of the latching tongue and an opposing outer face of the container.
