[origin: WO2013153095A1] The invention relates to a heat exchanger (9), e.g. an exhaust gas system (5) for an internal combustion engine (1), comprising at least one thermoelectric generator (12) having a hot side (13) and a cold side (14), comprising at least one heating tube (15) arranged on at least one hot side (13) of such a thermoelectric generator (12) in order to conduct a heating means (10), and comprising at least one cooling tube (16) arranged on at least one cold side (14) of such a thermoelectric generator (12) in order to conduct a cooling means (11), wherein the at least one thermoelectric generator (12), the at least one heating tube (15) and the at least one cooling tube (16) are stacked one on top of the other in a stacking direction (17) and form a tube stack (18), in which the respective thermoelectric generator (12), the respective heating tube (15) and the respective cooling tube (16) extend parallel to one another in a longitudinal direction (19) of the tube stack (18). An increased energy efficiency results if a housing (21) of the heat exchanger (9) has a jacket (23) which integrally has at least one pre-tensioning section (25) that can be adjusted resiliently between a relaxed state which exists if the tube stack (18) is missing, and a tensioned state which exists at least when the finally assembled heat exchanger (9) is present, and if the respective pre-tensioning section (25) generates in the tensioned state a pre-tensioning force (26) pressing the tube stack (18) in the stacking direction (17).
