The present invention relates to an electric candle with a flame part (1) including a flame element (3) and a base (2), wherein the flame part (1) comprises at least one light emitting diode (4, 4') being configured such that it illuminates the flame element (3), wherein the light emitting diode (4, 4') is configured to illuminate the flame element (3) such that the flame element (3) appears to flicker.
