[origin: CA2885100A1] The invention relates to a labelling machine (1) with a labelling device (2), which has a feed device (2.1) for feeding a carrier strip (3) provided with detachable labels (4), and a transfer device (2.2) for transferring the labels (4) from the carrier strip (3) onto an item (5) to be labelled. In order to be able to remove the carrier strips emptied of labels with comparatively low technical outlay and high operating comfort, the invention proposes that the labelling machine (1) also has a winding device (6) for winding up a portion (3.1) of the carrier strip (3) emptied of labels, containing at least one guide device (6.1) with a guide element (6.11), along which the carrier strip portion (3.1) can be guided in a direction of transport (T), and a winding device (6.2) which is connected downstream of the at least one guide element (6.11) and has fixing means (6.21), to which a loose end-portion (3.11) of the carrier strip portion (3) can be fixed, wherein the fixing means (6.21) are arranged about a coil core (6.22) rotatable about an axis of rotation (X) and follow a rotation movement of the coil core (6.22). The invention also relates to a corresponding labelling method.
