Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2013174474A1] The invention relates to a cascade nozzle for applying a plurality of layers of liquid or pasty application medium to a moving paper, board or other fibrous web, having at least three individual applicator nozzles (4, 5, 6) extending across the machine width, arranged one after another, each having an outlet slot (1, 2, 3), to discharge layers of application medium. According to the invention, the applicator nozzles (4, 5, 6) are formed between two nozzle parts (7) in each case and are each connected to a feed line (8) for application medium, the nozzle parts (7) are combined into a structural unit, forming a top face (9) along which the application medium discharged from the application nozzles (4, 5, 6), overlaying itself, slides toward a nozzle lip (10) where it flows off as a multi-layer coating curtain, wherein the outlet width of the respective outlet slot (1, 3) of outer applicator nozzles (4, 6) is adjustable via a mechanical slot adjusting means (12), and the inner applicator nozzles (5) arranged therebetween are each assigned a device (13) to influence the volume flow.
