[origin: WO2013175210A1] A tap (10) for use in the supply of hot water in a domestic or business environment is described. The tap (10) has a primary valve (14) whose operation enables a user to draw off hot water. A secondary fluid passage (12) is also provided, which secondary passage (12) is in fluid communication with a primary fluid passage (11), such that when an auxiliary valve (13) is opened, water flows through the secondary passage (12). The tap (10) includes a temperature measuring device to measure the temperature of the water flowing through the tap, the temperature measuring device being operable to activate a warning means (18), when the water temperature reaches a pre-set value. The warning means can comprise an audio signal. Additionally or alternatively a visible warning means can be included.
