Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a fluid-energy-machine (FEM) comprising at least one first rotor (R) contacting a process fluid (PF) to exchange kinetic energy between said process fluid (PF) and said first rotor (R), further comprising an electric motor drive (ED) driving the first rotor (R), further comprising a shaft seal (SHS), sealing to the first rotor (R) comprising a seal fluid supply (SFS) upstream said shaft seal (SHS) and a seal fluid exhaust (SFE) downstream said shaft seal (SHS).To improve efficiency and simplify design it is proposed that said seal fluid exhaust (SFE) conducts said seal fluid (SF) to a cooling system (CS) of said electric motor drive (ED) to cool the electric motor drive (ED).
