[origin: WO2013178893A1] The present invention concerns a device for protecting the knee joint of a user, intended to be installed on a sports shoe (2), characterised in that it comprises a shell (10) provided with an inner surface capable of at least partially covering an anterior portion of the leg of the user, the shell (10) comprising an upper portion (11) intended to be located at the knee and a lower portion (12) comprising linking means capable of linking the shell (10) to the sports shoe (2), the upper portion comprising side panels suitable for being brought into contact with the knee on either side of the knee, being in contact, at a minimum, with the condyles of the femur of the user, at least one strap (3) intended to be attached around an area of the leg and means for connecting the strap (3) to the inner surface of the shell (10).
