[origin: WO2013178698A1] The invention relates to a roof covering element (1), consisting of a sandwich-structure material composite, which is built up from metal cover sheets and at least one core layer arranged between the cover sheets. To ensure that such a roof covering element has an adequate temperature resistance, is relatively light, stable and durable, and can be manufactured relatively cost-effectively, the core layer is formed according to the invention from a fibrous insulation material which is heat-resistant up to at least 600°C, wherein the thickness of the core layer is up to 2.0 mm.
