Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2685192A1] The furnace (2) has a furnace vessel (4) for melting steel, and a lid (6) for closing the furnace vessel. A pivot unit (14) moves the lid away from the furnace vessel. The furnace vessel is movably mounted relative to the pivot unit in a vertical direction. The pivot unit comprises a retainer (16) for releasable fixing of the lid in the vertical direction. The furnace vessel is mounted in a swash plate (8) moved in the vertical direction. The swash plate is moved by hydraulic cylinders (10). The lid is supported when closing the furnace vessel by supports (12).
