[origin: WO2015052295A1] The invention relates to a method for gravity founding of an offshore installation (1) having a foundation body (4), wherein the offshore installation (1) is held in a dock (3) and a barge (2) having lowering means (20, 21, 22) is connected to the offshore installation (1). The foundation body (4) is arranged on the sea-floor-side of the barge (2) and an assembly of barge (2) and offshore installation (1) becomes buoyant. The assembly of barge (2) and offshore installation (1) is moved to location from the dock (3) and the offshore installation (1) is stably lowered on location to a region of sea floor (40). The lowered offshore installation (1) rests on the foundation body (4), wherein the barge (2) is moved plumb over a section of a foundation body (4) of the offshore installation (1) and lowered onto the foundation body (4).
