Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2503030A] A secure container for transporting or storing valuable items including an image capture device 42, 44, a processor 54 and a memory 60 for storing images and control means 24 to cause the processor 54 to commence storing images in response to a trigger signal received. This reduces power consumption to ensure that the processor (54) is not constantly active. The image capture device could be a camera, using a CCD or CMOS device. There may be a infra red light source, e.g. LEDs 62 that are triggered by a light sensor when the ambient light drops. The pictures may be transmitted over a wireless network or using an RF transmitter. The images may be compressed in size and/or enhanced. The image capture device may be triggered remotely. A microphone may also be used to capture audio. Two cameras may be used. The system is preferably used in a safe or security deposit box.
