[origin: WO2014004219A1] A clamshell container includes a bottom portion and a top portion. The bottom portion includes a bottom wall and a side wall attached to the bottom wall. The bottom wall and the side wall form a bottom recessed area. The top portion is connected with the bottom portion along a fold line. The top portion is configured to fold over at least part of the bottom portion at the fold line to form a storage area between the top portion and the bottom recessed area. The top portion and the bottom portion are constructed of a first layer and a second layer attached to the first layer by an insulating material. The insulating material includes micro-encapsulated particles to expand and provide thermal insulation.
