Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014001045A1] The invention relates to a retractable-roof element (1a, 1b) comprising a circumferential structure (2) with an opening (3), a membrane (6), a peripheral cable (4) and at least one guide cable (5), forming a cable assembly, wherein the peripheral cable (4) and the cable assembly are braced in relation to one another, wherein the roof element (1a, 1b) has a parked position and a shading position, wherein the ends of the peripheral cable (4) are fixed, via a first tensioning device, at two fastening regions of the circumferential structure (2), wherein the guide cable (5) is fastened on the peripheral cable (4), between the two fastening regions, and on the circumferential structure (2), via a further tensioning device, wherein it is possible to vary the tensile force of the first tensioning device and/or of the further tensioning device, and therefore the peripheral cable (4) can be displaced from the parked position into the shading position, and wherein the membrane (6), in the shading position, is at least partially opened out, fixed at at least one connecting point (15) of the peripheral cable (4) and covers part of the opening (3) of the circumferential structure (2). This makes it possible to provide for an attractively designed flexible shading of an inner courtyard.
