Die Erfindung betrifft ein Streckwerk für eine Luftspinnvorrichtung zum Verziehen und Verdichten eines Faserbandes, mit einem dem Streckwerk vorgelagerten Vorverdichter und einer dem Streckwerk nachfolgenden Luftspinnvorrichtung, wobei in dem dem Hauptverzugsfeld vorgelagerten Verzugsfeld des Streckwerks ein zweiter Verdichter angeordnet ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist zusätzlich in einem Hauptverzugsfeld ein dritter Verdichter angeordnet, dessen Breite des Durchtrittsquerschnittes größer, jedoch maximal 10 mm größer, ist als die Breite des Durchtrittsquerschnittes des zweiten Verdichters.
