[origin: WO2014001657A1] The invention concerns a method for producing an aluminium alloy foam, consisting essentially of the aluminium alloy, in molten form, infiltrating the interstices of a preform consisting of silicon elastomer elements, by means of a conventional moulding process, typically a low-pressure process, followed by the elimination of the preform broken down into silica powder during the moulding cycle and/or an additional baking cycle.
