[origin: WO2014005832A1] Whether or not pressurized gas cylinders equipped with a valve protection device for protecting the cylinder valve have been tampered with is indicated according to the prior art by affixing an adhesive tape or a cover. In order to overcome the shortcomings associated with this, a pressurized gas cylinder (1) according to the invention is equipped with a valve protection device (2) into which a tamper-evident seal (9) is integrated. The tamper-evident seal (9) preferably has a security element (10) that extends transversely across the access opening (5) in the housing for the valve protection device (2) that provides accessibility of the cylinder valve and is fastened by connecting elements (11) to the valve protection device (2), said elements having a predetermined breaking point. It is therefore necessary, before using the cylinder valve (4), to remove the tamper-evident seal (9), wherein the security element (10) will be destroyed at the predetermined breaking point. The invention provides a reliable and easy-to-use tamper-evident seal for gas cylinders supplied with tampering identification.
