[origin: WO2015067540A1] The invention relates to a sliding door (1) or a sliding window with a fixed enclosure (4), a sliding leaf (3), which can be moved transversely to the main plane of the sliding window or the sliding door (1) relative to the fixed enclosure (4) by means of a transfer arrangement (100), and a ventilation gap arrangement comprising a ventilation gap part (10). The transfer arrangement (100) can be operated by an actuating handle (7), wherein a first actuating handle position is paired with a sliding leaf (3) open position, in which the sliding leaf is freely movable in the longitudinal direction of the sliding door (1) or the sliding window relative to the fixed enclosure (4); a second actuating handle position is paired with a sliding leaf (3) closed position, in which the sliding leaf (3) is pressed against the fixed enclosure (4); and a third actuating handle position is paired with an intermediate position which lies between the closed and open position and in which the sliding leaf (3) can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the sliding door (1) or the sliding window relative to the fixed enclosure (4) until a gap ventilation part (10) strikes a gap ventilation counter piece and an additional sliding movement of the sliding leaf (3) is blocked.
