Ein Operationstisch weist eine Patientenauflage mit einer Längsachse und einer Querachse auf, wobei die Patientenauflage auf einer Säule mit einem Säulenkopf gelagert ist. Eine kardanische Lagerung ist vorgesehen, um die Patientenauflage aus einer horizontalen Grundstellung zu verschwenken. Mit einer Schwenkeinrichtung kann die kardanische Lagerung über den Säulenkopf hinaus angehoben werden.
