Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014015851A1] In a solid bowl centrifuge having a centrifuge drum which can be rotated about a longitudinal axis, having at least one outlet (14) for letting clarified matter out of the centrifuge drum, and having an energy-recovery device (10), which is arranged at the outlet and is intended for recovering energy from the clarified matter which has been let out, it is possible, during operation of the solid bowl centrifuge, for the centrifuge drum to rotate in a first direction of rotation and in a second direction of rotation, which is counter to the first direction of rotation. The energy-recovery device here, according to the invention, has a first active surface (20), via which clarified matter can flow off upon rotation of the centrifuge drum in the first direction of rotation, and a second active surface (22), via which clarified matter can flow off upon rotation of the centrifuge drum in the second direction of rotation.
