Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014012743A1] The invention relates to a cutting device (10) and a method for perforating a running fibrous material web (4) transversely to the web running direction (5) thereof, having a first row of blades (11.1) with a plurality of tips (15), which is equipped with a displacement device (12), which makes the row of blades (11.1) capable of movement with one movement component in the web running direction and one movement component perpendicular to the web running direction. In order to improve transverse separation by perforation and subsequent tearing, particularly for heavy fibrous material web (> 250 g/mm²), the invention provides that by means of a second row of blades (11.2), which has a plurality of tips (15) and which is also displaceable by means of a displacement device approximately simultaneously with the first row of blades (11.1), cuts can be made in the running fibrous web in such a way that the distance between the cuts made by the first row of blades and the cuts made by the second row of blades in the web running direction is at least 1 mm, preferably at least 3 mm.
