[origin: US2015110580A1] A device for forming book blocks is disclosed. The device includes a first conveying device which accepts signatures printed in a printing press located upstream. The device further includes at least one signature switch assigned to the first conveying device, multiple second conveying devices, and multiple book block formers, where each second conveying device is assigned a book block former and where each book block former can be supplied with signatures belonging to the same book block dependent on a position of the or each signature switch. The device further includes multiple placers, where each book block former is assigned a placer which accepts the book blocks formed in the respective book block former, and a third conveying device, onto which the book blocks can be placed with the help of the placers and which feeds the book blocks to a delivery device.
