[origin: EP2876300A1] A wind turbine system 100 is presented. The wind turbine system 100 includes a wind turbine comprising a plurality of blades 106 and a tower 102, and a processing subsystem 308 configured to shut down the wind turbine 100 by non-linearly pitching out the plurality of blades 106 in the wind turbine 100 towards a feather position at a pitch rate determined based upon a tower-fore-aft velocity of a top-portion 108 of the tower 102 during oscillations of the tower 102.
