[origin: WO2014016101A1] An avalanche-protection helmet (1) has a carbon-dioxide absorber (7) which can be activated. The carbon dioxide absorber (7) serves to absorb carbon dioxide from the air being breathed by a helmet wearer. The avalanche-protection helmet (1) permits the breathed air to be used multiple times. The length of time the helmet wearer can survive is thereby increased.
