Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014016076A1] The invention relates to a method for maintaining the functionality of a field device in automation technology, the method providing the following steps: - monitoring the field device for at last one parameter change (Deltanx) undertaken, wherein an old parameter set (nx-1) is modified by the parameter change (Deltanx) to form a new parameter set (nx); - storing all parameter changes (Deltanx) undertaken on the field device in a parameter change history (PH); - monitoring the field device for a malfunction (F) that occurs; - performing a corrective measure (BM), wherein the parameter change history (PH) and/or a parameter error link element (VE) is accessed for correcting the malfunction (F) that has occurred on the field device.
