[origin: WO2014023570A1] The present invention relates to a method for selecting a working frequency range (A; B; C; D) of a surroundings sensor device (100) having the following method steps: sensing (S1) a frequency spectrum over a frequency range (FB) by means of a receiver device (20) and providing operational data relating to the surroundings sensor device (100); determining (S2) a quantity of possible working frequency ranges (A, B, C, D) within the frequency range (FB) by means of the sensed frequency spectrum and by means of the provided operational data by means of a computer device (40); and selecting (S3) the working frequency range (A; B; C; D) of the surroundings sensor device (100) by means of the computer device (40) from the determined quantity of possible working frequency ranges (A, B, C, D) by means of a predefined criterion.
