[origin: WO2014026869A1] The invention relates to a sealing device for sealing an over pressure area or an under pressure area in a roller. Said sealing device comprises a sealing strip (1) for sealing on the front surface or rear surface, when seen in the rotating direction of the roller, of the over pressure area or under pressure area, in addition to a format defining element (2) for sealing the edges, when seen in the longitudinal direction of the roller and sealing strip, of the over pressure area or under pressure area. Said sealing strip has a front and a rear face (3, 4) which define the width of the sealing strip, in addition to an upper side and a lower side (5, 5a), said upper side having a sealing surface (6) and the sealing strip has, when seen in the longitudinal direction, two edge areas (7) and a central area (8) arranged therebetween. In the central area, said sealing strip comprises a lubricant opening (9) of a first type at least formed by a recess and open at least towards the upper side. The format defining element is arranged in one of the two edge areas and has a sealing surface (25) and a front side (26, 27), said front side of the format defining element is placed against one of the front sides of the sealing strip and said sealing surface of the sealing strip and the format defining element are set counter to the inner side (13) of the roll sleeve (14). The invention is characterised in that in one of the edge areas i) a lubricant opening (15) of a second type which is open towards the upper side, which is not open towards the front side on which the front side of the format defining element is placed and/or ii) a lubricant opening (19) of a third type which is open towards the upper side, which is also open towards the front side on which the front side of the format defining element is placed, the extension of the lubricant opening of the third type in the direction to the front side being equal to or smaller than the extension of the format defining element when seen in the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip and/or iii) at least in sections, no lubricant, is provided.
