Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2014029522A1] Exhaust gas recirculation systems for an internal combustion engine are known which comprise an exhaust gas line (20), an aspiration line (12), a turbocharger (16) with a compressor (14) that is arranged in said aspiration line (12) and a turbine (22) that is arranged in the exhaust gas line (20), an exhaust gas recirculation line (30) which branches off from the exhaust gas line (20) downstream of the turbine (22) and opens into the aspiration line (12) downstream of the compressor (14), and means for raising the pressure of the exhaust gas in said exhaust gas recirculation line (30). In order to overcome the drop in pressure, actively-operated exhaust gas recirculation pumps tend to be used. According to the invention, to be able to recirculate cleaned exhaust gas back into the high-pressure aspiration region in the most energy-efficient manner possible, it is suggested that a pressure wave supercharger (32) is arranged in the exhaust gas recirculation line (30) as a means for increasing pressure.
