Abstract (en)
A washing machine includes an integrated tub/drum (200) that holds laundry and water and rotates. A water supply pipe (610) and a water drain pipe (620) enter the integrated tub/drum (200) through a hollow shaft (410). An in-situ heating device (710) is coupled to water supply pipe (610) outside the integrated tub/drum (200) and raises a temperature of water supplied to the integrated tub/drum (200). Alternatively, the in-situ heating device (710) may be proximate to a water circulation pipe outside the integrated tub/drum (200) or inside the integrated tub/drum (200).
