[origin: WO2014033518A1] The invention relates to a removal element (1) for removing fiber flocks from fiber bales (2), comprising a removal roller (3) having an axis (7) and having teeth (6), a suction hood (4) arranged over the removal roller (3), and a grille (5) arranged under the removal roller (3), through which grille the teeth (6) of the removal roller (3) reach. The removal element (1) is supported on a removal tower (8) on one side. The suction hood (4) is formed by a trapezoidal first part (10), which is put over the removal roller (3) and is open at the bottom and has a first angle of inclination (alpha) and a second angle of inclination (ß), and an arcuate second part (11), which is arranged between the first part (10) and a transport channel (12) arranged in the removal tower (8). The first part (10) of the suction hood (4) is provided with leak-air openings (9) on the side facing away from the removal tower (8).
