[origin: WO2014033023A2] The invention discloses a medical peristaltic pump having a pump housing, in which there is formed a hose receptacle compartment in which a positionally fixed pump head is rotatably mounted, and having a hose unit, which is preferably provided as an exchangeable component and which is composed of a flexible hose and of a beam-like hose retention means which holds the hose fixed in loop form at two positions which are spaced apart longitudinally along the hose. The hose unit can be or is inserted into the hose receptacle compartment such that, by displacement of the hose retention means, the hose is placed in tensioning engagement with the pump head so as to be at least partially looped around the latter. According to the invention, a tensioning device in the form of a lever mechanism is provided which is arranged on the pump housing or on the hose receptacle compartment and which serves for the tensioning displacement of the hose retention element, said tensioning device having at least one lever element on which there is provided a detent or clamping device which preferably forms an undercut and which, when a hose tensioning position is reached, engages with a counterpart detent/clamping device arranged on the hose retention means for the purpose of locking the hose retention means and the tensioning device in the hose tensioning position thereof.
