[origin: WO2014037118A1] Disclosed is a dielectric barrier discharge lamp (2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7) having: a housing (20) which encloses an inner chamber (10) that is filled with a gas mixture suitable for producing radiation during an electrical discharge through the gas mixture; and at least three electrodes that are electrically insulated with respect to the gas mixture (60, 60', 62, 62'), different electric potentials being applied to at least two of the electrodes (60, 60', 62, 62'), and at least two of the electrodes being arranged in the inner chamber (10) of the dielectric barrier discharge lamp (2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7) as inner electrodes (62, 62') having different electric potentials.
