Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2014041351A1] The invention provides a method of and/or a system for monitoring a stairlift user by monitoring the use of a stairlift used by that user. The system preferably generates signals according to stairlift position and/or according to stairlift activity or lack thereof. Data reflecting ambient conditions in the vicinity of the stairlift and/or containing user physiological parameters may also be collected. Collected data may be transmitted to a remote data service where it is then relayed on to authenticated devices such as mobile phones and computers used by relatives and care-providers. The system may employ media services such as Twitter and Facebook.
