Part of the wires is exposed outside the box body so as to be connected to terminals of a breaker. According to the invention, the protection device is provided with a pedestal (410), made from electrical insulation material, outside the box body. The pedestal is separated from the box body, and is provided with retaining parts and assembling parts (415, 415A, 417, 417A), wherein the retaining parts fit the wires to keep the wires in set positions, and the assembling parts enable the pedestal to be fixed on the breaker. The invention also relates to a self-protected electrical assembly, which includes the above protection device and the breaker that are assembled to each other through one of side main surfaces.
